You need to find a company that will sell EV kits cheep! Lets be practical! The canadan company is selling a convershion kit @ almost $ 10,000 dollars and that does not include battaries. There must be a none profit company selling parts and kits of EV…
10 K is way to much money!

Although I know a VW old style bug is an easy conversion, (I have owned over 30 of them myself over the years), but I require a safer vehicle. I drive my 2000 New Beetle TDI with refined used vegetable oil. I would like to find a New Beetle with a bad engine, and convert it to an EV. Do you have any leads on anybody who had already done this? I have seen info on New Beetle EV’s but cannot get any further info.

Can you help? Please advise.
